Ambitions is a constituted not for profit community organisation for adults with learning and physical disabilities based in Oldham and Tameside area.
We do a variety of activities such as Disco's, A Social Club and Trips out and about.
We are currently looking for Volunteers who have an interest in working with adults with learning and physical disabilities and would like to enhance their knowledge/understanding of this area
The role of our Volunteers may include participating/supporting our members in a variety of activities/keeping attendance/fire registers/ensuring the group is run smoothly.

Tasks the volunteer will be required to do: We are very flexible and understand people have other commitments, we like our volunteers to participate in any activities they are available for and is more convenient for them.
• MONDAY at the Oldham Baptist Church social club (11am – 3pm)
• The Cotton Rooms, Oldham (Thursday 6pm – 9:30pm) disco
• The Cotton Rooms, Oldham (Sunday 12pm – 3pm) disco
• The Old Fire Station, Tameside (Tuesday 6pm – 9pm) disco
•OUT & ABOUT trips (Times may vary) dates agreed in advance
Skills
A good ability to listen. Have an empathy with adults who have learning and physical disabilities. Some organisational skills may be required
Training: No training is required; however, support will be given to help volunteers understand and carry out any aspect of the role as appropriate. (Free courses will be offered to help the volunteer in their role)
Skill and Qualifications Required: No Qualifications are required but any Certificates/Qualifications/DBS checks were more than happy to take into account.

Organisation Profile: AMBITIONS is a constituted self-funding not-for-profit community organisation primarily staffed by volunteers for adults with learning and physical disabilities based in the area of Oldham and Tameside. We provide a variety of activities such as our Discos, A social club, Trips out and about.
OUR DISCOS are based in both Oldham and Tameside, the discos are £4 per member Carers FREE! we also except card payments (Card £4.10) we put on a selection of different themes throughout the year including: Live acts, raffles, play your cards right, Fancy dress parties, celebrations, special occasions i.e Halloween, Valentine's Day, pool competitions, buffets, and Christmas presents at the end of each year. We also include a rolling loyalty scheme when signed up, each time you attend one of our discos/social clubs your 10th time is free!
* (Tameside disco) Tuesday night 6pm-9pm at The Old Fire Station Pub, 46 Wellington Road, Ashton-Under-Lyne OL6 6DQ.
* (Oldham disco) Thursday night 6pm-9:30pm at The Cotton Rooms, 5 Rock Street, Oldham OL1 3UJ
* (Oldham disco) Sunday Afternoon Disco 12pm-3pm at The Cotton Rooms, 5 Rock Street, Oldham OL1 3UJ
* (Oldham Social Club) Every Monday 11am-3pm Oldham Baptist church, Chaucer Street, Oldham OL1 1BA. This is £25 per member (Carers FREE) and includes 2-course lunch (dinner & desert) unlimited refreshments, arts and crafts, Nintendo switch, pool table, laptops and printer, card bingo and raffle. £20 Without lunch, if carers would like to purchase lunch it's an extra £3.
OUT AND ABOUT TRIPS!!
Our out and about trips take place every 1-2 months, we have visited such places like Alton towers, Chester Zoo, Monkey Forest, Whitby, Football stadiums, Blackpool/pleasure beach, Cadburys world, Coronation Street tour media city, Wales, Scarborough, Emmerdale village tour, and many more.
If you wish to join our discos/social clubs, we ask that you fill out one of our membership forms with a few details, your 1st time is completely free to experience our activities.
