Aims/Priorities: The funding supports both mission and building projects, helping churches across the North Western Synod to develop their mission, respond to community needs and undertake essential building works. It also encourages churches to offer Warm and Welcome Spaces/Warm Hubs for people in their local communities during the winter and provides grants to support this work.
Who can apply: United Reformed Church churches and congregations within the North Western Synod can apply.
Grant amount: Grants amounts are discretionary. Grants of £1,000 are offered to support Warm and Welcome Spaces/Warm Hubs.
Application process: Applications for mission and building grants are considered twice a year, with deadlines of 31 July and 31 October for Grants Committee meetings taking place in September and December respectively.
Applicants for building grants should consult the Property Officer before submitting their application. Applicants must obtain approval from the Synod Trust in advance for any repair or building works, before entering into an agreement with tradespeople or starting work.
The application form and guidance notes are available on the United Reformed Church North Western Synod website.
To apply for a Warm and Welcome Spaces grants, applicants should email transformation@nwsynod.org.uk with a copy of their church's registration with the Warm Welcome campaign or their local authority.
