Aims/priorities: HMRC has £5.5 million of funding for 2024 to 2027 to allocate to voluntary and community sector organisations to help them provide support to HMRC customers who need extra help understanding and complying with their tax obligations and claiming their entitlements, including those who are digitally excluded.

HMRC is looking for voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations to help customers to form or rebuild a relationship with HMRC that enables them to engage directly with HMRC in the future.

Aims/priorities: To help children have a stronger start in life, they partnered with Groundwork to create a new £5.3m grant programme called Stronger Starts. Our goal? To give 1 million children a Stronger Start by helping fund healthy food and fitness activities that can improve their physical health and mental wellbeing - from breakfast clubs to playground equipment, football kits to gardening classes.

Aims/priorities: The Trust makes grants principally in two sectors: Music and Heritage & Crafts.

Music Grants

The Trust supports classical music performance and training especially chamber music, composition and music education. Particular interests within music education are music for children and adults with special needs, youth orchestras and projects at secondary and higher levels, including academic research.

Aims/priorities: The funding is expected to provide an estimated 1,000 new defibrillators in community spaces across England.

This could include town halls, community centres, local shops, post offices and local parks, to ensure that defibrillators are evenly spread throughout communities and easily accessible if someone is experiencing an unexpected cardiac arrest.

Who can apply? Local community organisations, such as sports clubs, local theatres, community halls, etc., may register their interest now.

Aims/priorities: The British Ecological Society (BES) is providing grants through its Outreach Grants programme to help promote ecological science to a wide audience.

Ecology is defined by the BES as the scientific study of the distribution, abundance and dynamics of organisms, their interactions with other organisms and their physical environment.

Who can apply? All individuals and organisations that are able to organise public engagement events in ecology are eligible to apply. This includes, but is not limited to:

Aims/priorities: Longer-term funding for charities in the UK with exciting and innovative projects that address specific themes set out by the Benefact Group.

The Benefact Group is providing £500,000 in larger grants of £10,000 plus to help charities turn their creative ideas into practical solutions that benefit society.

The funding can be used within three years and for a blend of project and core funding costs.

Projects must support one of the following themes:

Aims/priorities: The funding is intended to expand the reach of social investment to smaller organisations or those based in disadvantaged areas, targeting funding where it can be most effective at promoting equitable outcomes, and ensuring that any interventions enhance the social and economic capacity of a community.

Who can apply? Incorporated voluntary, community or social enterprise organisations, based in England and delivering social/environmental impact in England can apply.

To be eligible, applicants must:

Aims/priorities: This fund aims to support projects that support crafts that are currently listed as endangered or critically endangered on the Red List of Endangered Crafts and provide opportunities for makers and trainees who wish to develop or share their skills in the crafts that have been identified as being most at risk.

Who can apply? Individuals and voluntary and community organisations that can demonstrate that they are working the skills and knowledge that are listed on the Red List of Endangered Crafts can apply.

Empowering Local Communities Grant.

Empowering Local Communities is an Asda Foundation grant for local groups aimed at supporting a broad range of activities which contribute towards transforming communities and improving lives. Groups supporting refugees arriving to the UK are welcome to apply under this grant.
