McCarthy Stone Foundation

Aims/priorities: The McCarthy Stone Foundation is offering 30 grants of up to £1,000 each to support local groups that are organising events and activities for people over the age of 65 years during the festive period (1 December 2023 and 2 January 2024).

The funding is intended to help older people who may be isolated or lonely, particularly during this time.

The grants can be used for a number of different things, including but not limited to:

National Lottery Million Hours Fund

Aims/priorities: This funding is for organisations to give extra support to young people in areas where they may be at risk of anti-social behaviour. We want to fund extra hours of youth work for additional activities that give these young people more places to go and positive things to do.

This programme is funded by the Department of Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) and The National Lottery Community Fund.

Counsellor | Rochdale and District Mind

Rochdale and District Mind aim to support people in Rochdale, Heywood, Middleton and the surrounding areas to develop and sustain good mental health and emotional wellbeing.

They are a recognised effective provider of services to support emotional health & wellbeing, which includes the provision of commissioned therapeutic services and hold BACP Service Accreditation.

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Part Time (14 hours per week)

Salary:£8,983.52 – £9,580.80 (Actual Annual Salary)

Department of Health and Social Care – Community Automated External Defibrillators Fund

Aims/priorities: The funding is expected to provide around 2,000 new defibrillators in community spaces across England.

This could include town halls, community centres, local shops, post offices and local parks, to ensure that defibrillators are evenly spread throughout communities and easily accessible if someone is experiencing an unexpected cardiac arrest.

Who can apply? Local community organisations, such as sports clubs, local theatres, community halls, etc., may register their interest now.

Historic England - Everyday Heritage Grants: Celebrating Working Class Heritage

Aims/priorities: The funding is for creative projects that focus on heritage connecting people to historic places, specifically those people and places that are overlooked or underrepresented. The aim is to further the collective understanding of the past. There is particular interest in supporting community-led projects from groups and individuals that are not heritage organisations but can deliver heritage projects.

Save Our Wild Isles Community Fund (with Crowdfunding)

Aims/priorities: The Save Our Wild Isles Community Fund, funded by Aviva and in partnership with the RSPB and WWF, is a £1 million fund to make it easier for communities across the UK to take action for nature in their local area.

This match funding scheme can support a wide range of nature projects, from creating community gardens and replanting wildlife meadows to protecting wildlife and promoting community connection to nature.

Who can apply? Applications will be accepted from one of the following types of organisations:

Energy Saving Trust Foundation - Youth Climate Action Fund

Aims/priorities:

The funder is seeking to work with organisations to understand how young people who are experiencing inequality view the climate emergency and what issues are most important to them. This could include practical environmental projects, carbon reduction initiatives, education and awareness work, or advocacy and campaigning.

Activities should be led by children and young people (up to the age of 25 years) and could include:

Rosa’s Voices from the Frontline Fund Reopens for UK Applications

Aims/priorities: Now in its sixth year, the funding is for women’s and girls’ organisations to deliver activism and campaigning to raise awareness of the issues women and girls face.

The campaigns could be targeted at local communities, the general public, local or national government, media, service providers or businesses.

Veterans' Capital Housing Fund – Refurbishment Grants Programme

Aims/priorities: This is a refurbishment grant programme. It is for capital projects that will support the refurbishment and/or extension of accommodation for veterans.

The funding is for projects that will:

  • Enable refurbishments of existing affordable homes for rent to veterans
  • Enable refurbishments of sites that increase the availability of veteran housing
  • Ensure properties meet decent homes and energy efficiency standards.
