The Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) grant funding tests the impact of high-potential projects aiming to raise the attainment and wider outcomes of 2–19 year-olds, particularly those from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
The EEF’s funding rounds now focus on particular topics, and projects will be funded within selected themes under these topics.

Aims/priorities: The BT Group Apprenticeship Fund aims to support SMEs, charities, and public sector organisations across England by providing access to £4 million in apprenticeship funding over four years.
The programme utilises the apprenticeship levy, a government initiative introduced in 2017, which requires companies with a wage bill exceeding £3 million to contribute 0.5% of their payroll to fund apprenticeships. Businesses can also transfer up to 50% of their unused levy to other organisations under new rules from April 2024.

Since 2014, many small voluntary groups across the borough of Oldham have applied for and received financial support from the Community Cash Award. Projects include a beehive at Sholver & Moorside, card making activities at Coalshaw Green Park, days out for Oldham Support Group for Carers in Autism and Spotlight Drama Group’s overhead projector.
