Skylight Circus Arts are a charity, established in 1990, which works with all ages and abilities, delivering creative circus projects in the local community.

Their mission is to empower individuals and communities through the learning, practise and discipline of physical circus skills. They use circus creatively for performance, and as a vehicle for personal, physical, social development and wellbeing.

Skylight runs regular circus classes for all ages and abilities including; juggling, trapeze, plate spinning, unicycling, specialist circus and aerial swing sessions for people with disabilities, and much more.

Skylight Arts Administrator, Charma Force, commented:

"Working with Julie from Action Together to achieve the Quality in Action Award has been a valuable experience for us at Skylight Circus Arts. It gave us the opportunity to review and reflect on our policies and procedures, ensuring we are doing our absolute best for everyone we work with. Being presented with this award makes us incredibly proud, as it highlights and demonstrates the quality of the work we do, all while improving the lives of both children and adults through achievement in circus."

Quality in Action Award

Our Quality in Action Award is a recognised framework for voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations working across Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside to prove their impact. The award recognises outstanding commitment to safeguarding, quality assurance and continuous improvement and is an independent, local seal of approval which publicly demonstrates to local commissioners, funders, beneficiaries and other stakeholders that your organisation delivers quality activities and services.

How can my organisation apply for the Quality in Action Award?

You'll work alongside one of our dedicated Development Officers to meet criteria that ensures your organisation has the right things in place, with practical advice, resources and support to help you develop the policies and procedures that are right for you. The QiAA is free and open to groups of any size. By achieving the award you'll be able to demonstrate to local commissioners, funders, beneficiaries and other stakeholders that you are delivering quality activities and services.
