Routeway to skills and jobs in the care sector

Through the delivery of the Skills Support for Employment (SSE) contract, Employment Links Partnership (ELP), in conjunction with EDUK8 and Rochdale based care providers, would like to invite you to apply for the forthcoming Routeway into Care programme, leading to guaranteed job interviews upon successful completion for all participants, for multiple vacancies across all Care disciplines in Rochdale. Routeway details are as follows:

Routeway dates: Monday 6th Apr 2020 to Friday 12th June 2020

Venue: Employment Links Centre, 99-101 Drake Street, Rochdale, OL16 1PZ

Mon 6th Apr to Fri 17th Apr –  between these dates, learners will attend 5 flexible days at ELP centre to undertake a mix of sector related modules including eLearning and a blend of bite size relevant learning.

Mon 20th Apr to Mon 18th May (Mon-Fri, 9.30am-2.30pm) – accredited provision where 7 Care related qualifications will be achieved:  

 

Level 2 Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care

Level 1 in Health and Safety Awareness

Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering

Level 2 Award in Understanding Infection Prevention and Control

Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness

Level 1 Award in Stress Awareness

Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia

 

Tue 19th May - Fri 12th June (Mon-Fri 10:00-14:00 / 14:00-18:00 / 16:00-20:00)  – 14 days’ work experience at Care providers venue in Rochdale, providing vital training and experience covering all aspects of anticipated duties in a Care Home/domiciliary care environment, including specialist experience supporting vulnerable adults with dementia.  Guaranteed job interviews for multiple vacancies will follow upon completion of the Routeway into Care, inclusive of Work Experience.     

Previous Routeway into Care programmes delivered by ELP in conjunction with employers have been highly successful in (a) providing inexperienced residents with both the skills and the experience to work immediately in a Care environment, and (b) securing employment for over 75% of those successfully completing the Routeway programme – supporting several Care employers within the Borough with an identified skills shortage in the Sector 

To be eligible for the training support, customers will be unemployed, 16+ and not in full-time education, have a National Insurance number and have appropriate proof of ID to work in the UK.
