As part of the #MonthOfCommunity, we are celebrating everyday kindness and mutual aid of communities, neighbours, friends and family during the pandemic.

Two local artists, R Khan and Bushra Sultana, have collected stories of kindness from people across Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale and created an artwork inspired by what they have heard. We are having a launch event and celebration of the artwork on Saturday 12th June from 1-3pm.

At 1pm the artwork will be unveiled by the Mayor, and we will also hear from Cllr Janet Elmsley and Action Together's Kerry Bertram.

Then from 1-3pm there will be crafts, music, and other family friendly activities. Come along with family and friends to attach messages of kindness to our wish tree, make flowers or draw your community hero. Or follow our trail through town to find the poems and messages shared by participants, leading you to our space on Baillie street. Music will be provided by some of the groups who have shared their stories and inspired the artwork.

We hope to see you there!
