Rewilding Challenge Fund

Aims/Priorities: The Rewilding Challenge Fund, a new annual fund, is provided and administered by Rewilding Britain, an independent charity committed to catalysing rewilding and influencing rewilding policy across all of Britain.

This fund has two main aims:

  • Nurture and enable one large-scale project to create a shared vision for a landscape, seascape, or an approach that integrates both.
  • Ensure the invaluable knowledge and experience gained by the recipient of the award is shared with rewilders across Britain through the Rewilding Network.

Who can apply: Applications will be considered from diverse groups (landowners, sea-users, organisations, communities, businesses, etc) who want to work together to develop innovative models to upscale rewilding.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be members of, or eligible to join, Rewilding Britain’s Rewilding Network.
  • Be prepared to share knowledge and experiences in an accessible way.

Grant amount: This is an annual fund with one grant of £100,000 to be awarded each year.

Capital works and purchases are NOT eligible.

Application process: There is a two-stage application process:

  • Stage 1 – the lead organisation should submit a short expression of interest.
  • Stage 2 – shortlisted projects will be invited to submit a full application and short presentation.
