Oldham Vaccination Programme 2025
The aim of the funding from 10GM is:
- To increase Covid & flu vaccination uptake among communities experiencing health inequalities in Oldham, specifically among groups eligible for the Covid & flu vaccines but who are most underserved or more likely to experience barriers to vaccination services.
- Support VCFSE groups to develop their capacity to support individuals who are more likely to experience barriers to screening & immunization.
The target communities are:
Covid 19 Vaccinations:
- Adults aged 75 years & over.
- Residents in care homes for older adults.
- Adults, who are in clinical risk groups (as defined tables 3 and 4 of the Covid-19 chapter of the Green Book).
Flu Vaccinations:
- Pregnant people,
- those aged 65 years & over,
- those aged 18 years to under 65 years in clinical risk groups (as defined by the Green Book, Influenza chapter 19),
- those in long-stay residential care homes,
- carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person,
- close contacts of immunocompromised individuals,
- frontline workers in a social care setting without an employer led occupational health scheme including those working for a registered residential care or nursing home, registered domiciliary care providers, voluntary managed hospice providers & those that are employed by those who receive direct payments (personal budgets) or Personal Health budgets, such as Personal Assistants.

KeyRing Living Support Network | £700 | My Health, My Way | Group sessions around having flu & covid vaccinations with people who have learning disabilities providing accessible information. Provide some 1:1 support to attend appointments where needed. |
Spark Oldham CIC` | £700 | Community Engagement | To support the Community Engagement project, which provides local residents with information & advice on common health issues. |
Support and Action for Women's Network (SAWN) | £700 | Informed Choices | Increase awareness of COVID & flu vaccinations in the Black African Community. Providing accurate information via word of mouth using promotional material & talking openly at community activities & in community spaces |
Yuvanis Foundation | £700 | Winter Wellbeing | Our community health champions will engage with all our volunteers to incorporate vaccine communications within all activities of our Women’s and Men’s Hubs. That will include weekly engagements every Monday for both groups throughout Winter. It will also include circulating information through the attendees of our centre on a regular basis. |
