The Oldham Community Lottery celebrates turning 2 this August.
Since its launch in August 2023, the Oldham Community Lottery has raised an incredible £35,023.20 for organisations registered as good causes across Oldham.
More than 68 local groups have signed up as part of a fun and effective way to raise funds for their valued services in the community.
Oldham Community Lottery would like to say a huge 'THANK YOU' to supporters who continue to purchase tickets and help raise funds for local organisations.
Players of the Oldham Community Lottery can win weekly cash prizes up to the £25,000 jackpot for just £1 per ticket.
50% of the £1 ticket goes directly to the Good Cause of your choice, with a further 10% going to the Community Fund, which is used to further support local good causes.
Good causes not only benefit from receiving 50% of the profits from ticket sales from their page, they also receive a host of marketing materials as well as their own Oldham Community Lottery web page.

Oldham Community Lottery fund security at Pride event
10% of each ticket sold in the Oldham Community Lottery is contributed to the Community Fund, which is used to further support local good causes. Oldham Pride have registered as a good cause since July 2023.
This year, Oldham Pride were able to benefit from the proceeds that are contributed to the Community Fund, as they were granted £1,500 towards the security costs for their parade and event.
The support from the Community Fund was crucial to the success and safety of this year's celebration. With the funding, Oldham Pride were able to hire a professional and dedicated security team, which was essential for ensuring everyone felt safe and secure throughout the day. This meant that the event could be a joyful and welcoming experience for all who attended.
The grant awarded directly enabled Oldham Pride to manage several key situations with professionalism and care. The security team funded was on-site from 11am, working closely with Greater Manchester Police (GMP) to keep a watchful eye over the event. They were able to swiftly respond to and resolve various incidents, including:
- Removing a group of individuals for making homophobic remarks
- Assisting attendees with minor medical needs and providing first aid
- Safely removing an intoxicated male who was a risk to others
- Responding to a report of a suspicious individual and discreetly managing the situation, which was later confirmed to be unsubstantiated
Thanks to the professionalism of the security team, Oldham Pride were able to handle these challenges without any major disruptions, ensuring the safety of all attendees and performers. The event was a huge success, with record numbers turning out to celebrate together.
