National Hate Crime Awareness Week 2025

Action Together proudly supports National Hate Crime Awareness Week
#WeStandTogether

National Hate Crime Awareness Week takes place between 11 - 18 October 2025.

Action Together stands with victims of hate crime, and believes we all have a right to live without fear and intimidation from others because of who we are.

No one should face hate, violence or abuse because of who they are, who they love, where they’re from, what they look like or what they believe.

What is a hate crime?

"Hate crimes are acts of violence or hostility directed at people because of who they are or who someone thinks they are. Hate crimes can take many different forms – for example someone may have damaged your property because of the colour of your skin, sent you offensive letters because of what you believe, or behaved violently towards you because of who you love. No hate crime is acceptable. We all have a right to live without fear, hostility and intimidation from others." - LetsEndHateCrime

Get help and support

If you’ve been a victim or witness of hate crime, report it and get support. No-one should have to suffer alone.

Reporting a Hate Crime

It is important to report a Hate Crime so action can be taken against the perpetrator and support can be provided to victims and witnesses.

When you report hate crimes, you are making a bigger difference than you may think.

It helps you get support.  It helps us make your local area safer.

Most hate crimes are not reported. Your reports help us to understand how hate crime affects your community and then tackle the problem.

There are many different routes to reporting a Hate Crime, including:

  • True Vision
  • Police
  • Council
  • Third Party Organisations
  • Mobile Apps and Online Reporting Serives
  • Social Housing Providers
  • Restorative Justice
  • Crime Stoppers
