Community Warehouse Rochdale are overjoyed with their latest donation from Morrisons Supermarket in Rochdale.

The donation was kindly offered from Morrisons Community Champion, Emma Pedgrift, when she recently attended the boroughs Food Solution Network. The Food Solution Network consists of voluntary organisations, statutory bodies and Action Together working together to tackle the food crisis. Emma Pedgrift said ' We are keen to support the community as this is very important to us as a business. So we are delighted to be supporting the community warehouse and ensuring that food deprivation in the Rochdale borough is being addressed through the support of many VCFSE groups and local supermarkets'.

Rochdale Community Warehouse is a central distribution hub stocked with food and essential items and economic, health and wellbeing support resources for redistribution to voluntary sector groups. This allows smaller food providers to concentrate on supporting Rochdale Borough residents.

We want to make sure that no one in our local community has to go hungry.  The warehouse supports over 25 food banks, pantries, clubs and cupboards each week providing over 500 ambient food products to over 200 families and individuals.

Morrisons’s kind donations will make a real difference in making our weekly picking and packing tasks easier and offering a continued service at the warehouse.
