Job: Construction Social Value Manager

Permanent contract working 36 hours 40 mins per week and based at Groundwork office in Stockport.

OVERVIEW OF THE POST

The Social Value Manager leads and manages the One Stockport Construction Brokerage programme, to coordinate delivery of work, skills and social value outcomes arising from construction and regeneration activity, ensuring that contractor commitments translate into clear, measurable benefits for Stockport residents.

Delivery

Lead and manage a programme of work to deliver through collaboration:

  • Brokerage: Between contractors, VCSE organisations and skills providers, candidates and job opportunities and local suppliers and supply chain opportunities
  • One Stop Shop for developers and contractors to fulfil their Planning and Social Value commitments
  • Building long term capacity of the Stockport construction sector to operate as a centre for excellence

Business & Service Development

  • Lead and manage the business development plan for the programme, identifying areas for growth and opportunities to achieve it.
  • Manage and grow delivery partnerships and relationships to support programme development, delivery and growth.
  • Work closely with Stockport Council, contractors, VCSE organisations, training providers and partners to deliver outcomes, contributing insight, learning and intelligence to support the ongoing development of the One Stockport Construction Hub
  • Lead best practice delivery of Groundwork Social Value Commitments

Financial & Resource Management

  • Produce and manage programme budgets and associated project resources available.
  • Support strategic managers with larger income generating opportunities and longer-term financial planning.

People Management & Development

  • Provide line management for project leads and assistants and be accountable for their performance, development and wellbeing in the workplace.
  • Provide support and supervision for placements including T-Level
  • Support the delivery of strategic workforce development plans.

Internal Management

  • Embed GGM policies and procedures across programmes, champion delivery standards and ensure compliance.
  • Champion key business priorities such as EDI and carbon reduction, ensuring these are embedded across all programme operations.
  • Collate, analyse and learn from data and feedback to influence policy and action.
  • Remain on top of market and emerging trends / latest insights and best practice in relation to social value in procurement and uses these to inform service development plans
