Job: Volunteer Coordinator

Our Volunteer Coordinator will coordinate volunteering opportunities across Old Trafford, both within St John’s Centre and to other local settings. They will recruit and place volunteers, ensure that training and ongoing support is delivered, and record volunteer progress and outcomes.   

Main Duties & Responsibilities  

  • Recruit & deploy volunteers to local projects and ensure ongoing mentoring and support
  • Work closely with volunteers and local organisations, building relationships and developing stronger communities
  • Deliver training to volunteers during their onboarding period and ongoing, as required
  • Work with volunteers to help identify their personal development needs and identify opportunities to increase their skills and make best use of existing assets
  • Work with Volunteer Coordinators at the other Hubs to identify opportunities for volunteering and minimise barriers across the neighbourhood and the borough
  • Carry out monitoring and evaluation, including gathering data, case studies and feedback to track the effectiveness of the volunteering strategy and develop a best practice
  • Ensure Safeguarding is implemented throughout

Other duties and responsibilities:

  • Attend Trafford Hubs/Trafford Collective Meetings and other network meetings as required
  • Report progress to the Board of St John’s Centre
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings
  • Abide by health and safety guidelines and share responsibility for own safety and that of colleagues
  • Develop their own skills within the context of the work undertaken and around any changes or growth areas
