We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and motivated Business Development & Programmes Manager to support the growth and delivery of our services. This varied role combines fundraising, project management, staff supervision and business development, helping us to secure funding, deliver high-quality programmes and expand our work with schools, nurseries and other organisations.
The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, a strong relationship builder and an excellent team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Grant Management
- Research and identify suitable funding opportunities.
- Prepare and submit high-quality grant applications and funding bids.
- Develop compelling funding proposals and supporting documentation.
- Maintain relationships with funders and funding partners.
- Ensure compliance with funding requirements and reporting deadlines.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Collect, analyse and present project data and outcomes.
- Prepare timely and accurate reports for funders and stakeholders.
- Monitor project performance against agreed targets and outcomes.
- Support impact measurement and continuous improvement activities.
Staff, Volunteer & Student Management
- Provide day-to-day supervision and support to staff members, placement students and volunteers.
- Conduct inductions, training and ongoing development activities.
- Monitor performance and wellbeing, providing guidance and support where needed.
- Promote a positive, collaborative and inclusive team culture.
Recruitment Support
- Participate in recruitment and selection activities.
- Attend interviews and contribute to candidate assessments.
- Support onboarding and induction processes for new team members.
Business Development & Sales
- Promote and market the organisation's services to schools, private nurseries and businesses.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Prepare proposals, quotations and presentations.
- Identify opportunities to expand services and generate income.
- Represent the organisation at networking events, meetings and community engagements.
Project Management
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, budgets and quality standards are met.
- Coordinate resources and activities across different programmes.
- Maintain accurate records and project documentation.
Person Specification
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience writing successful grant applications and funding bids.
- Experience preparing reports for funders, commissioners or stakeholders.
- Experience managing staff, volunteers and/or placement students.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Confident relationship builder with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience promoting, marketing or selling services.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.

- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (if applicable).
