International Men's Day is an annual event celebrated on 19 November, which aims to raise awareness about men's issues and promote gender equality. It provides an opportunity to highlight the positive contributions that men make to society and to acknowledge the challenges they face in their daily lives. This day is celebrated in more than 80 countries around the world and focuses on issues such as men's health, toxic masculinity, fatherhood, and male role models. Instead of having an annual theme, there are three overarching core themes:
- Making a positive difference to the wellbeing and lives of men and boys
- Raising awareness and/or funds for charities supporting men and boys’ wellbeing
- Promoting a positive conversation about men, manhood and masculinity
At Action Together, we believe in the strength and impact of our communities. Across Oldham, Rochdale, and Tameside, our members are doing fantastic work to support men’s mental health, and we want to celebrate that. We also want to ensure that men know where they can seek help, guidance, and support.
