Healthwatch Rochdale Achieve Action Together's Quality in Action Award

Healthwatch Rochdale have been awarded Action Together's Quality in Action Award, after demonstrating high quality across the organisation.

The award is a recognised framework for voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations working across Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside and is an independent, local seal of approval which demonstrates commitment to quality assurance & continuous improvement.

Action Together awarded Healthwatch Rochdale the Quality in Action Award after assessment of seven key areas that are essential to effective governance and management:

  • Organisational Governance – How you run your group, what your aims are and how you make decisions 
  • Safeguarding – How you ensure the safety of children, young people and vulnerable adults
  • Safer recruitment and staffing – How you recruit, train and supervise your staff and volunteers
  • Health and Safety – How you make sure your activities are safe and that you have things in place in case things go wrong
  • Equal Opportunities – How you make sure that you are inclusive and welcoming
  • Promotion and Partnerships – How you work with others and involve your beneficiaries in your decision making
  • Finance – How you look after your money and funding

Kate Jones, Healthwatch Rochdale Chief Executive Officer, said:

“We are delighted to have received this award. As an organisation we are continuously trying to develop and improve the quality of service that we deliver and this award helps to demonstrate our commitment to that. We would like to thank Action Together for supporting us in developing key areas that needed improvement to achieve the award”.

On achieving the award Action Together said:

“These past 12 months we have been on a journey with Healthwatch Rochdale in supporting them to be at a level to achieve their Quality in Action award. Achieving this award demonstrates to local commissioners, funders, beneficiaries and other stakeholders that you are delivering quality activities and services. It has been an absolute pleasure working with you, seeing you grow from strength to strength through the key areas of the QiAA has been an absolute delight. I’m so very happy you have been able to achieve this award, very much well deserved”.
