Voluntary organisations, statutory bodies and Action Together in Rochdale are working together to tackle food crisis for families and individuals struggling to afford food and the stigma and shame around food poverty and access to appropriate food for those isolated in Rochdale. Click here for the Statement of Intent document.
This group of voluntary organisations together with Action Together launched the Food Solutions Network. The network has over 30+ organisations who work together to tackle food poverty and safe access to appropriate food. After discussing all the issues and the possibilities of a better way forward - the idea of the Community Warehouse was born!

What is the Community Warehouse and how does it work?
Community Warehouse is a central distribution hub stocked with food and essential items and economic, health and wellbeing support resources for redistribution to voluntary sector groups. This allows smaller food providers to concentrate on supporting Rochdale Borough residents.
Action Together is offering £1,000 grants to groups who can make care packs to help us stock the Community Warehouse. You can find out more information about the Repond, Repair and Recovery Fund here.
If you are a voluntary, community, faith or social enterprise (VCFSE) group operating in Rochdale who would like to find out more about the community warehouse or place an order for food stock, care packs and literature please email email@example.com.
The community warehouse is managed by Action Together and an incredible team of volunteers.
You can find out more about the team and our values by reading our ‘How we want to be Together’ manifesto.

Special thanks for local businesses who have already contributed!
We’d like to thank some of our local businesses for supporting the Community Warehouse. Mecca Bingo donated lots of food stock and brought a staff team to make up 150 ‘Winter Warmer’ parcels which were donated via food providers over the winter period. BES Ltd donated £5,000 which bought warehouse shelving and equipment and a stock of hats, scarves and hot chocolate which we used, with their staff team to make up 250 Winter Warmer packs and provide stock to support some of the homeless charities in the borough.
