Aims/priorities: The Enterprise Nation Next Generation Grant is intended to support aspiring entrepreneurs aged 18 to 24 who have a business idea they want to develop. Applicants do not need to have an established business or a completed business plan, with an idea sufficient to apply.
The programme has been launched in response to concerns about the number of young people in the UK who are not in education, employment or training (NEET). Around 750,000 people aged 16 to 24 are estimated to be in this position. Enterprise Nation reports that it encounters young people with business ideas who do not have a clear route to developing them.
One successful applicant will receive support to help develop their business idea, including mentoring from an experienced entrepreneur. The programme is intended to provide an opportunity for a young person to explore their business idea and take steps towards establishing a business.
Who can apply: The fund is open to individuals aged 18 to 24 who have a business idea they want to develop. Applicants do not need to have:
- A registered business.
