COVID-19 Testing in Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside

Test and Trace is a key part of the response to COVID-19. Below are links to local council information on how to access a free test. Recommendations are for front line workers to be tested twice weekly.

Information is different in each area, but in each area you must:

  • Book a test online before going to a testing centre
  • Wear a mask at all times
  • Do not attend a testing centre if you are showing symptoms. If you have symptoms, please book a PCR test at https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test, or call 119

 

Testing in Oldham

Book a free test via Oldham Council.

Testing in Oldham is free and available to anyone showing symptoms of coronavirus. The centres are open seven days a week. You must book an appointment on line before going to a testing centre.

 

Testing in Rochdale

FAST Testing for those with no symptoms via Rochdale Council.

The Find And Stop Transmission (FAST) testing programme is being used to help detect and fight COVID-19. It uses lateral flow tests and the programme is only for people showing no symptoms. The tests are free. Across the borough of Rochdale frontline workers showing no symptoms can be FAST tested. If you're unable to work from home you'll be eligible for FAST testing.

You must not turn up to be tested if you have any symptoms. If you have symptoms, you must book for a COVID-19 test through the NHS or ringing 101.

 

Testing in Tameside

Targeted COVID-19 Rapid Testing for key workers with no symptoms via Tameside Council.

The rapid testing programme is being used to help detect and fight COVID-19. It uses lateral flow tests and the programme is only for people showing no symptoms. The tests are free.



You must not turn up to be tested at an Asymptomatic Testing Centre (ATS) if you have any symptoms. If you have symptoms, please book a PCR test at https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or call 119.

Across the borough of Tameside frontline workers showing no symptoms can be rapid tested. If you're unable to work from home and need to come into contact with others at work you'll be eligible for rapid testing.

If you are actively volunteering in Tameside and come into contact with people, then you are eligible for asymptomatic rapid testing. Please contact Action Together for confirmation of your volunteer status to show at the testing centre by emailing lisa.hannibal@actiontogether.org.uk
