About Power of autism

To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the UK, in particular those living in Greater Manchester, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, nationality, age, disability, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said inhabitants and the statutory authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education, including the arts of drama, mime, singing and music, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.

To promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined.The organisation's purposes are:

1. To unburden stress to those in need by providing support and
guidance, both emotional and practical of those individuals and families affected by autism spectrum disorder (ASD), throughout all stages from obtaining a diagnosis and onward.

2. To advance education by raising awareness and understanding of ASD
among individuals, families, professionals, and the wider community. (These can be interpreted in various languages to aid any multi-lingual barriers).

3. To promote social and emotional development by offering therapeutic
interventions and meaningful activities for children and young adults living with ASD. These activities can be person centred, looking at individuals needs holistically working in collaboration with families and professionals.
To empower individuals with ASD as well as their families and those
who interact with them. This can be through education, self-awareness, and inclusion-focused initiatives, as well as finding help within communities.
To empower and facilitate short learning hobbies/crafts and educational courses. As parents of ASD children, parents have voiced concerns that they have no time to complete hobbies/crafts in a group where they are all included and comfortable. As a organisation we believe that for a child to gain 100% a parent needs to be at 100%. Providing these hobbies will enable parents to their own individual people as well as parents of a child on the spectrum.
