Every Wednesday during term time, from 1–2:30pm, a junk modelling craft session takes place at The Richard Bentley Smalley Memorial Hall on Thornham Lane in Middleton. The session is aimed at home educating families and offers a relaxed space for children to explore creative making using recycled materials. Each week, there are optional prompts and missions to inspire ideas, but children are free to engage with the materials in their own way. The session is intended as a gentle, low-pressure activity that encourages mindfulness, creativity, and social connection within the home ed community. The hall has a café on site, and there’s a field outside where children can play before or after the session
