Thanks to funding from Rochdale Borough Council, Action Together is offering small grants of up to either £2,000 or £5,000 to help the VCFSE sector run projects to raise awareness of Climate Change and deliver activities and events that will benefit individuals and communities.

| M6 Theatre | £2,000 | Last year with the help of the Climate Co-operators Community Fund, we were able to reach 850 Rochdale primary school children, raising their awareness of the climate crisis, inspiring conversations and action. This grant would enable us to continue this project in local Primary Schools. We will run a two-week tour engaging with 10 schools, 20 workshops and approx. 900 pupils. |
| Deeplish Community Centre | £4,740 | Our project, “We Belong Here!”, is a 11-month community focused gardening and climate education initiative co designed and developed with local community members, participants and inspired by children’s and young people’s feedback and inspiration to bring together children, young people, parents and families to learn, How to grow and take positive action on climate change as well as planting, growing, harvesting and sharing good practices. |
| Rochdale AFC Community Trust | £2,900 | Repurpose Rochdale is a community-led upcycling and repair initiative that we run at Rochdale AFC Community Trust. We want to take our successful Repurpose Rochdale initiative on the road – delivering mobile upcycling and repair workshops directly into communities across Rochdale. We will tour Rochdale's five neighbourhoods, engaging residents through community-led workshops focused on repairing, reusing, and upcycling household waste like textiles and furniture. |
| Artful Make it Happen | £3,706 | The Wardle Repair Café will be a welcoming community space based at Wardle Library, offering local residents the opportunity to bring broken or damaged items to be repaired rather than thrown away in the bin. The project aims to reduce waste, promote sustainability and build community connections by encouraging people to share skills, time and conversation. |
| Al-Furqan Mosque | £2,600 | Our Community, Our Climate will deliver 10 climate awareness sessions at Masjid Al-Furqan to help local families learn about renewable energy, active travel, and sustainable living. Each session will last 1.5 hours and be delivered twice, once in English and once in Urdu to ensure accessibility for all, especially the Urdu-speaking elders in our community. |
| Rochdale Hornets Sporting Foundation | £1,900 | Wild at The Hive is a partnership between HMR Circle and Rochdale Hornets to transform the underused green space immediately around The Hive at Balderstone Park into a vibrant, biodiverse, and educational community asset. |
| Bangladesh Association and Community Project | £1,800 | In keeping with the funding priorities, the main focus of the project will be to raise awareness and educate the community on renewable energy, active travel, and sustainable ways of living with a view to encouraging positive behavioural changes among residents. |
