Tameside Talks Business - Making Tax Digital
This session will focus on:
- who does MTD apply to and when it will affect you
- what counts towards the income thresholds
- what records businesses will need to keep digitally
- quarterly updates and what they do, and do not, mean
- software and record-keeping requirements
- what is changing for landlords and sole traders
- common misunderstandings about MTD
- what businesses should be doing now rather than waiting until the deadline
This session will be led by Rob Newman, Managing Partner of Carter Collins & Myer, a North West accountancy and tax practice working mainly with owner-managed businesses, charities and CICs.
He has more than 30 years’ experience advising SMEs on accounts, tax, business structure, valuations and disputes. His approach is practical and plain-spoken, with a focus on helping business owners understand what the numbers actually mean rather than burying them in jargon.
Alongside his practice work, Rob writes and speaks regularly on tax, business ownership and the practical financial problems that tend to catch small businesses out.
