Aims/priorities: The funding is for groups whose core focus is providing food aid to their service users, for example, food banks, community pantries, social supermarkets, soup kitchens, breakfast clubs. (Please note that any group that does not already offer a food provision as its core purpose may not apply for this grant.)
Who can apply? Not-for-profit groups with a primary aim of supporting food distribution and provision can apply.
Applications are accepted from not-for-profit organisations who distribute food to the most disadvantaged in the community, such as food banks, community pantries, social supermarkets, soup kitchens and breakfast clubs.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be not-for-profit.
- Have an annual income below £250,000 (as the Foundation prioritises supporting grassroots organisations, the income limit ensures funding has the greatest local impact).
- Have governing documents.
- Have a safeguarding policy.
- Have a bank account (that accepts cheques) in the group's name and be able to provide proof.
For groups that have more than one branch or sub-group in the same community, Asda Foundation can only support one of these groups with an award.
Grant amount: Up to £1,000 are available.
Application process: Applications may close earlier if a high volume of applications is received.
Please note: If certain geographical areas are oversubscribed, they may close before the full grant programme does. Any changes will be communicated on the Asda Foundation website, social media, and the grant management system.
