The All-Sufficient Sanctuary's Celebration

The All-Sufficient Sanctuary received £455 from the Volunteer Celebration Fund. This was used to fund a celebration for volunteers, their families and rewards.

The All-Sufficient Sanctuary is one of the over 700 parishes of the Redeemed Christian Church of God within the United Kingdom and we are located in Chadderton, Oldham in Greater Manchester. We are a family and friendly bible-based church where the spiritual and physical needs of members is a priority.

We needed to give our volunteers a sense of belonging and to let them know that their contributions are appreciated. We needed to recognise the contributions and selfless efforts of our volunteers.

Luckily, we got the funding from Action Together to put the programme together. The programme was put together to recognise and appreciate the contributions and efforts of our volunteers in the last one year. The programme took place at the Church premises in Chadderton, Oldham.

The aim, apart from honouring our volunteers, was to sensitize our community about what we are doing as a charity, the noble contributions of all our volunteers and to recruit new ones.

We gathered all our volunteers and their families in one place to celebrate their achievement and give them that sense of belonging. Other people would be invited who would be encouraged to join the team. We would use the opportunity to encourage those invited to join the team. Those who are interested would be given Application forms to complete. Those volunteers who have been selected for recognition would be recognised publicly and be presented with a certificate of commendation and a £25 voucher each.

All our volunteers, potentials volunteers, invited guests and family members were all involved in the programme.

We achieved the main aim which is to celebrate the volunteers in order to be able to retain their services and commitment going forward. The volunteers were all very pleased and they pledged to redouble their efforts in the coming year.

One of our volunteers gave a glowing tribute to our chairperson for the opportunity to serve as a volunteer in our team and how the art of volunteering has impacted her positively. The volunteers were particularly happy with the fact that their efforts were being appreciated. They all expressed their appreciation to action together and their readiness to continue to volunteer their services.
