Aims/Priorities: The funding is for grassroots sports clubs and organisations based in England and Wales which promote participation in sport and physical activity within their local communities - to help them grow, welcome more people and make a greater difference in their local community. The funding can be used towards a range of essential club costs, including:
- Sports equipment
- Team kits and clothing
- Coaching
- Training programmes
- Facility hire
- Costs that help increase participation
- Improvements that enhance the experience for club members
Who can apply: Grassroots sports clubs and organisations based in England and Wales which promote participation in sport and physical activity within their local communities.
To be eligible, organisations must be based in England or Wales and meet one or more of the following criteria:
- A local, community-focused sports club
- A registered Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC)
- A school, college or educational organisation running sporting activities
- A registered charity providing sporting opportunities
- A Scout or Guide group running sporting activities
- A charitable service fund of the Armed Forces
- A Community Interest Company (CIC).
Applications must be submitted by an individual aged 18 or over who is authorised to act on behalf of the organisation.
Grant amount: Aldi is offering the following:
- Gold Award – £3,000 (13 grants available)
- Silver Award – £1,250 (13 grants available)
- Bronze Award – £750 (13 grants available).
A total of 39 grants and £65,000 in funding will be awarded this year.
Application process: To apply, groups should email sportsfund@aldi.co.uk with no more than 200 words telling Aldi:
- How the funding would be used
- The expected impact on their club and local community
- The number of participants who would benefit
- Any additional information reasonably requested by Aldi
Applicants may also submit supporting photography.
