You will work alongside an experienced Engagement Worker in conducting Return Home Interviews with
children who have been reported as missing. Return home interviews can take place at the child’s home,
place of education or within the community, depending on what is most convenient for the child. A
flexible approach to arranging and conducting Return Home interviews is of utmost importance to ensure
the needs of the child are being met. The Return Home Interview provides an opportunity for a child to be
listened to – to understand why they were reported as missing, what happened whilst they were away,
including exploring whether they have come to any harm, discuss what can be put in place to prevent
them from being reported as missing again and advocate on their behalf.
