Volunteers required to help support the engagement of Petrus service users and the general public in community involvement with the redevelopment of historic sites in Rochdale.
We are asking for local people to share and record their memories of an historic site in Rochdale and to design, plan and construct a new garden area in central Rochdale.

- Tasks: This is a role suited to anyone that wishes to volunteer with homeless and vulnerably housed individuals and other members of the community.
You will be supporting better engagement in our workshops and sessions which will explore local history research and learning, promote better listening and engaging with the participants to record their stories and also help to design, plan and construct a garden area in Rochdale.
Volunteers will be involved in supporting the engagement of our service users in the project which could involve learning or supporting delivery of sessions at our Hub and in community settings
You could have; be able to pass-on, or may wish to learn, some of the skills used and introduced in the sessions.
You will be using or developing skills alongside participants during workshops and sessions that will include introduction to garden planning and design, design of the planting scheme with history and biodiversity in mind, interviewing, recording and filming individuals, collating stories, researching local history and consulting historical and art collections for design inspiration and using arts and crafts to capture memories and impressions.
This is a short-term project, but there are longer-term volunteer opportunities available with us for anyone who would like to continue supporting Petrus by volunteering. - Training: All volunteers attend mandatory induction training and ongoing training and development in the role and will also be provided.
