English Conversation volunteers

Speak English Cafes are informal groups that meet in the library space for people with English as an additional language. Attendees are encouraged to practise speaking in English in small groups through chat, games and activities.

Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:

Main Activities and Tasks:
1. Leading a table of chat, games and activities at Oldham Library.
2. Encouraging everybody to speak in English and learn new words.
3. Encompassing everyone at your table in activities.
4. Supporting the setting up and clearing away at the beginning and end of sessions.
What's involved?

Available between 10.00am and 12 noon Wednesday and/ or Friday.

Able to travel to Oldham Library (bus, tram and petrol expenses can be reimbursed on production of receipts).

You will need to be confident speaking in English - English does not have to be your first language.
