Theatre Improvement Scheme

Aims/priorities: Grants are available for not-for-profit theatres in the UK for capital improvement projects on a specific theme each year. The theme for the 2020 fund is Improving Environmental Sustainability. Funding will be given to projects that demonstrate how a small intervention can have a big impact on reducing the theatre's environmental impact. Examples of eligible projects might be:

  • Sedum roofs.
  • New windows
  • Building management systems.
  • More efficient water heaters.

Who can apply? Not-for-profit theatre operators in the UK can apply for grants towards their building or equipment. Organisations currently in receipt of other grants from the Theatres Trust or the Wolfson Foundation are not eligible to apply.

Grant amount: Up to £20,000

Application process: Application forms can be downloaded from the funders website. Potential applicants are encouraged to get in touch with the funders to discuss their projects before applying.
