For many of the families living in communities across Tameside, this Christmas will be tougher than ever. The pressure to choose between 'heating or eating' is a heartbreaking reality, and for some, the thought of gifts under the tree feels completely out of reach.
That’s where you come in. Your donation to the Tameside Toy Appeal 2025 can make sure local children living in poverty wake up to something special on Christmas morning. Every toy, every gift, every act of kindness makes a real difference.
Santa’s sleigh is back on the road, and he needs a little help from the #Tameside’s Christmas elves! We’re calling on our amazing community to donate new toys and gifts for children aged 0–18 who might otherwise go without this Christmas.
Together, we can bring hope, joy, and a little Christmas magic to families who need it most.
Thanks to our Toy Appeal partners Tameside MBC, Tameside Family Hubs and Not Really Here Media for their support.
See the information below for suggestions of gifts you can donate, details of all the drop off locations, or how you could help with a donation to Just Giving.
How can you get involved and help?
We need donations of new and unwrapped toys/gifts for children aged 0-18.
The appeal will run from Monday 10 November 2025 until Friday 12 December 2025 (which will be the last day we can accept donations). Just drop off your gift at one of our dedicated drop-off locations.
Every gift donated to the Tameside Toy Appeal will be given to a child in Tameside whose family is experiencing poverty. In previous years this appeal has been incredibly successful and we have been able to donate so many toys and gifts to ensure that disadvantaged children in Tameside wake up to something under their tree on Christmas morning. Together, we can make great things happen again this Christmas!
Here are a few gift idea suggestions...
- 0-5 years : Sensory toys, books, building blocks, bath toys, play mats, teethers, dolls, cars, activity toys, fancy dress costumes, musical toys, puzzles
- 5-11 years : Colouring books and pencils, jigsaws, arts and craft kits, Play dough, Lego, science kits, remote control toys, sports games, board games, fidget toys
