Lidl is looking for charities to collect their surplus food, with new food available each week day from Monday 16 October onwards. There will be fresh food like fruit, vegetables and bread as well as ambient foods: tins, sweets and other non-perishables.

Charites will be asked to commit to collecting every week on the day(s) they sign up on, at a time decided on between themselves and the store manager. They will be notified by SMS and/or email of the amount of food available that day.

The stores participating in the scheme are the Lidl's in the following locations: Rawtenstall, Rochdale, Royton, Chadderton, Newton Heath, Openshaw (only Thurs and Fri available), Denton, Rusholme, Cheadle and Wilmslow.
