Level 2 and Level 3 counselling

Tameside, Oldham and Glossop Mind is offering Level 2 and Level 3 counselling.

The next Level 2 Counselling course will begin on Tuesday 2 April 2019 and will run from 9am – 4pm for 15 weeks. The course takes place at our Wellbeing Centre on Katherine Street in Ashton.  

As part of the course you are required to undertake an external examination which is set by CPCAB, this will take place at our Wellbeing Centre in Ashton on Tuesday 2 July 2019.

The course is accredited by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) which is a nationally recognised awarding body specialising in the field of counselling. It is designed to give learners the underpinning knowledge, skills and competencies to use counselling skills ethically and safely in a variety of contexts and roles.

This qualification is for:

  • Those starting the first level of training as a professional counsellor
  • Those who want to learn counselling skills in other professional or helping roles
  • Those who want to improve their professional and personal relationships as part of personal development.

For Level 3 Counselling 

The next course  starts on Thursday 4 April 2019 for 15 weeks. Furthermore, the Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies is designed to expand upon learners understanding and knowledge of counselling skills by introducing learners to ethical and safe practice within counselling agencies, theories within counselling and how these can enhance our understanding of self and clients, alongside exploring the role of research within counselling practice.

This qualification is intended for candidates who have already acquired a recognised qualification in counselling skills and want to:

  • take the next step in training to become a counsellor
  • learn more about counselling theory, ethics and mental health
  • be prepared for work as a professional counsellor in an agency setting.

The Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies is designed as a pre-practitioner training for professional counselling qualifications, therefore, following completion of the Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies learners will have the underpinning knowledge and skills required to undertake a placement within a counselling organisation

  • Work effectively in groups
