This is an incredibly exciting role allowing a resident to become active in their neighbourhood and act as a voice for local people.
The role:
- Promotes and builds community activity.
- Strengthens public engagement with the voluntary and community sector.
- Raises awareness of existing projects, opportunities and support.
You will be responsible for promoting, supporting and developing activities in Deane, working with community projects and supporting local people to become more involved in their community. You will also provide admin support for the Deane Focus team and work more generally to bring targeted support from various Be One Homes and partner services to communities in Deane.
The aims of the role are:
- To nurture and build community-led activity.
- To strengthen public engagement with the voluntary and community sector.
- To support community cohesion, health and wellness goals. To engage and support those not currently using services due of lack of knowledge, language or cultural barriers.
- To promote self-care, self-management and behaviour change in people and communities.
