Football Foundation - Energy Fund

Aims/priorities: The funding is intended to help clubs and organisations become more environmentally and financially sustainable, given the rising costs of energy and the ongoing responsibility to protect the environment.

Who can apply? Applications are accepted from football clubs and community sports organisations. This includes:

  • Not-for-profit football clubs or voluntary groups.
  • County Football Associations.
  • Professional Club Community Organisations.
  • Registered charities.
  • Not-for-profit companies.
  • Community interest companies (CIC) or other social enterprises.
  • Companies limited by guarantee.

All applicants must have affiliated football operating at their site, along with a changing pavilion/clubhouse of which they have security of tenure (minimum 10-year lease or freehold).

Grant amount: Up to £25,000 are available, to fund up to 75% of total project costs.

Application process: Eligible organisations are invited to complete an Expression of Interest online at the Football Foundation website. This form will help establish the support needed to improve their energy efficiency. Those who are successful will be given further information on next steps in supplying a report from an independent energy-saving consultant.

Deadline: The deadline for submission of Expressions of Interest is Thursday 13 April 2023.
