Community Health Champions (Oldham)
Community Health Champions is a network of trusted community organisations working together to disseminate and cascade health information to their communities, with a specific focus on preventative approaches to promoting health and wellbeing outcomes and mitigating the impact of health inequalities.
The focus of this session will be Learning Disability acceptance. The information element of this session will be presented by Neil from OPAL. There will also be time and space to share approaches, ask questions, and learn from others in the sector.
Objectives:
- To develop an understanding of the way that society disables people with learning disabilities
- To dispel some of the myths around learning disabilities
- To develop an understanding of how we can adjust our practice to support people with learning disabilities to thrive
