Aims/priorities: We have four strategic outcomes for children and young people. We aim to fund a balance of grants across the UK that address the greatest needs of vulnerable children and young people, and have developed specific criteria depending on where you are in the UK based on these overarching strategic themes. These are our ‘Local Funding Priorities’
- Preventing mental health issues
- Alleviating the impact of poverty and deprivation
- Reducing social inequity for marginalised children and young people
- Addressing the impact of family-related challenges
Who can apply?
BBC Children in Need requires all organisations to meet our minimum standards for grantmaking. This includes taking full responsibility for finance, governance and safeguarding during the delivery of work. We also provide an A to Z of our eligibility policies and guidance, and grant-making FAQ’s. Check our pages below:
Grant amount: Available grants range from £1,000 to £40,000 per year and can be awarded for up to three years.
Application process: You can apply for funding with Children in Need here.
Attend a pre-application advice session
Before you submit an Expression of Interest, you must attend a pre-application advice session. This is a chance to learn more about local funding priorities and the types of funding programmes currently available.
Please ensure you have completed steps 1 and 2, and that your organisation is eligible to apply for funding. You must be a not-for-profit organisation working with children and young people aged 18 or under to attend a session.
If you’ve received BBC Children in Need funding before, or you’re a current grant holder planning to apply again, you’ll still need to attend a session before submitting a new application.
There are advice sessions taking place on the following dates:
- Thursday 4th December 12-1pm
- Tuesday 16th December 12-1pm.
You can book your place here: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/bbcchildreninneed1/1804504
Once you have read what we fund, checked your eligibility and attended a pre-application advice session, you can submit an expression of interest here
Deadline: We offer Core and Project funding with no application deadlines, so you can apply at any time.
