As a Fundraising Committee Member, you will help us plan and deliver fundraising activity that brings in sustainable income, builds community support, and strengthens our long-term future. This is a practical, ideas-led role where you will play a real part in helping animals in need. we would love to hear from people who have experience in any of the following: Fundraising (charity or community based) Event planning or event delivery Marketing, communications, or social media Working with local businesses or corporate contacts Sales, relationship-building or networking Bid writing or grant research Finance, budgeting or tracking income Project planning and organising Charity sector volunteering , leadership or committee roles

Tasks: Attend fundraising committee meetings (typically every 1 - 2 months, online in the evening on a set date)
Help plan and deliver fundraising campaigns, appeals and events
Generate and develop fundraising ideas. From small community activities to larger initiatives
Support with event planning (e.g. raffles, quizzes, coffee mornings, themed nights, seasonal campaigns)
Help identify and approach potential supporters, donors and local businesses
Assist with fundraising communications. Helping shape messages, posters, and social media content
Support donation and fundraising admin where needed (e.g. tracking income, collecting funds, keeping records)
Contribute to fundraising planning and targets, helping the charity stay financially stable
Work collaboratively with trustees, volunteers and shop teams to maximise fundraising opportunities

Training: A full welcome and induction to Pennine Pen Animal Rescue
An introduction to how the rescue and charity shops operate
Basic fundraising guidance, including what good practice looks like
Support to understand fundraising rules and charity compliance
Possible DBS check due to events potentially attending.

About Pennine Pen Animal Rescue CIO

Our current Rescue Centre Manager Michael Waugh established Pennine Pen Animal Rescue in 2001 where he operated from a small terrace dwelling in Hathershaw rescuing dogs and cats. Initially there was only space to house a small number of animals and the front of the property became a charity shop. By 2009, Pennine Pen Animal Rescue had outgrown the terrace dwelling and took the bold step of purchasing its own property on Honeywell Lane, Oldham. It was from this location that the Rescue Centre was formally established and where it still operates from to this day. The organisation has gone from strength to strength over the years and we are exceptionally proud of everything we have achieved. The Rescue premises have gradually been modernised to ensure that the animals benefit from the best facilities possible while they are in our care. The Charity also operates a number of shops in different locations across Oldham and the funds raised from the sale of donated items are our lifeline to keeping the Rescue Centre operational. Pennine Pen Animal Rescue is registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, protecting the interests of the organisation for future years. However, none of this would ever have been possible without the dedication and commitment of our staff and volunteers and the fantastic support and generosity of our funders and the general public.
