Millgate Arts Centre is a creative community theatre that supports and develops all elements of the creative arts in Saddleworth. We have grown in the last 10 years and have plans to continue to develop in the next 5 years and beyond. To support and lead this growth as a community theatre we are looking to find a volunteer treasurer. The treasurer would be a charity trustee, company director and key part of the management team. Members of the management team are also volunteers and have tasks allocated to them. This role should oversee Millgate Arts Centre financial controls; forecasting and producing monthly and annual reports.

- Tasks: This role should oversee Millgate Arts Centre financial controls; forecasting and producing monthly and annual reports. As we have greatly increased the number of shows we perform or host compared to the past, we have recognised that we need to add support to this role. We have therefore outsourced our accountancy service, book-keeper and payroll. The treasure would manage the outsourced book-keeper service/ payroll and accountant and work closely with the management team. The role would manage/oversee day to day payment of invoices, expenses and other ad-hoc bills. Jackson Brierley provide book-keeper and payroll services and can advise on accounting principles for accounts sign off.
Key Skills
• Interest in community theatre and working as part of an engaged team of volunteers.
• Experience as a team leader / player.
• Basic accounting / book-keeping.
• Numerate / Computer literate able to deal with simple systems. - Training: Full induction to Millgate Arts Centre purpose, people and processes.

Training and update with Book-keeper and payroll team - Requirements: Relevant qualification or training, Willing to travel by public transport or find own way to volunteering location
