Oldham Library are looking for a team of Front of House volunters to support the live@thelibrary staff during their christmas production run of ‘Hansel and Gretel' welcoming lots of families and audience members from across Oldham and beyond.
We are looking for volunteers who would like to work alongside our front of house staff and support us to make their experience magical!
Volunteers will help guard the set in the theatre as audience members arrive and find their seats, assist by starting seating from the back to the front.
During the show, volunteers can watch the performance from a designated chair down the side if seating is limited and also guard the set during the interval and as the audience leaves, and say goodbye and thank them for coming.

- Tasks: We will need you to:
 Before the Show:
 Attend a briefing - Instructions on seating guidance, Volunteer positioning and safety protocols, How to engage politely with the audience
 Assist with ticketing and check-in – scan or check tickets, confirm guest lists, and distribute programs.
 Greet and direct guests – offer a warm welcome, answer questions, and guide audience members to their seats, restrooms, or other facilities.
 Support accessibility needs – help guests with mobility requirements or other accessibility needs find appropriate seating or assistance.
 Coordinate with production staff – communicate with stage management and technical teams regarding audience readiness and timing.
 
 During the Show:
 Monitor audience comfort and safety – keep aisles clear, assist latecomers discreetly, and maintain a calm environment.
 Be alert for any issues – handle minor incidents or direct concerns to the FOH Manager promptly.
 
 After the Show:
 Thank and farewell guests – ensure a friendly exit and assist with audience flow.
 Assist with pack-down – collect programs, tidy public areas, and return FOH materials and decorations.
 Report feedback – share any audience comments, issues, or positive experiences with the FOH Manager for future improvements.
 
 Time Commitment:
 Arrive 45 minutes before the show for briefing and preparation
 Total time commitment: approximately 2.5 hours per show
 Show length is around 1.5 hours
