Role Purpose:
As a Form-Filling & Advocacy Support Volunteer, you will work alongside survivors to help them complete essential forms, draft letters, and navigate paperwork related to housing, benefits, legal matters, or other support services. Your input will help survivors access the help they need and feel more confident in advocating for themselves.

- Start Date: 30th July 2025
- End Date: 30th July 2030
- Volunteer: Weekly, Fortnightly
- Tasks: ● Supporting survivors with completing forms for housing, benefits, legal aid, family court, and other services.
● Helping to draft clear, professional letters and statements (e.g., to social workers, solicitors, or housing officers).
● Assisting with gathering and organising supporting documents.
● Explaining the purpose of forms and letters in a clear, accessible way, without offering legal advice.
● Maintaining accurate and confidential records of support provided.
● Liaising with the Soul Sisters team to ensure appropriate follow-up and safeguarding. - Training: ● Free Training: Guidance on common forms and written advocacy techniques.
● Mentor Support: Ongoing support from experienced staff and volunteers.
● Reference: Provided after 12 months of consistent volunteering.
● Certificate: A certificate of appreciation upon completing an agreed number of volunteer hours.
● Expenses Paid: Reimbursement for travel and a small subsidy to support your role. - Requirements: Willing to travel by public transport or find own way to volunteering location
- Skill And Qualifications Required: ● Clear written communication skills and a good standard of English.
● Patience and empathy when supporting survivors through potentially overwhelming paperwork.
● Basic IT skills and confidence using online forms and word processing tools.
● Good attention to detail and ability to work through documents methodically.
● Respect for confidentiality and sensitivity to the nature of our work.
