Role Purpose:
As a Family Court Advocate Volunteer, you will support survivors of domestic abuse by accompanying them through the family court process. Your presence, advocacy, and administrative support can make a critical difference to someone navigating a challenging and often intimidating system.

- Start Date: 30th July 2025
- End Date: 30th July 2030
- Volunteer: Weekly, Fortnightly, Monthly
- Tasks: ● Offering emotional support to survivors before, during, and after court hearings.
● Providing practical information about the family court process (not legal advice).
● Assisting survivors with paperwork, court forms, and organising relevant documents.
● Supporting communication between the survivor and court professionals where appropriate.
● Attending hearings (in-person or remotely) with survivors, taking notes where necessary.
● Maintaining accurate and confidential case records.
● Liaising with Soul Sisters staff to ensure appropriate follow-up and safeguarding procedures are in place. - Training: ● Free Training: Comprehensive training on family court processes, trauma-informed support, and safeguarding.
● Mentor Support: Ongoing guidance from experienced advocates and staff.
● Reference: Provided after 12 months of consistent volunteering.
● Certificate: A certificate of appreciation upon completing an agreed number of volunteer hours.
● Expenses Paid: Travel reimbursement and a small subsidy to support your role.
● Empowerment: The opportunity to directly support survivors and make a real impact in their journey toward safety and justice. - Requirements: Willing to travel by public transport or find own way to volunteering location
