You might have a special interest which you could help share with the children and young people, like Arts & Crafts or Gardening to name but a few.
Volunteering can be incredibly rewarding and you may just want to offer some of your free time, or you might be looking at a career working with children and young people and need some hands on experience, to enhance your career opportunities.
Due to the nature of the work, we would have to undertake some ‘Safer Recruiting’ checks for the Volunteers, as we have to do for anyone working within the Children’s Homes, and this would include.
• Applying for a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) there would be no cost to the individual.
• 2 References
• Informal Interview. - Training: You would have the support of a team of Residential Child Care Workers whilst you are volunteering at the home.
As part of Volunteering, we would offer you training around safeguarding and Health & Safety, so that everyone feels, and is kept safe.
