Social Enterprise Accelerator Programme
As part of the Tameside Social Economy Network, we launched an eight-week Accelerator programme to empower social entrepreneurs who are leading organisations by enhancing sustainability, diversifying income streams, and developing robust business models. The Social Economy Organisations who took part in this programme across Tameside included: Live Great Adventures CIC, Foodbank Forklifts C.I.C, Prime Active Communities CIC, Leap Children and Family Centre, and Infinity Initiatives. Following on from this, some of these Social Enterprises accessed further 121 business mentoring to grow as leaders and enhance their offer.

How has this support impacted you as a leader and / or your organisation?
“It's really helped us to reassess where we need to focus and make some big decisions around the sustainability and future of our organisation, it's challenged our thinking along with given us new ideas and alternate ways to do things to save us time, energy, but also ensure that we are aligned with our core values both professionally and personally. It's actually been REALLY transformational and we've still lot of coaching to go yet!”
As a result of the specialist support, has your Social Economy Organisation achieved any of the below?
“Created new jobs and engaged in new markets. We are currently working to employ admin support along with levelling up our volunteer training to provide relief for myself and Liam to focus where we needed as we can't do it all!”
What is next for your organisation?
“We are working on some large funding bids to hopefully secure more volunteers in order to be able to then free us up to have the time to generate that regular income and be more self-sufficient”
Is there any other feedback you would like to share?
“We loved the accelerator course, really good all-rounder. Coaching has been really good too. Action together is so supportive, we really appreciate ALL that you offer!”
