You will be there to support foodbank clients by identifying their wider needs and guiding them toward relevant local services, helping them access long-term support beyond emergency food provision.

- Availability: Monday AM, Tuesday AM, Wednesday AM, Thursday AM, Friday AM
- Tasks: Welcome and engage with clients in a respectful, non-judgmental manner.
Listen actively to understand individual circumstances and challenges.
Provide clear information about local services (e.g., housing, benefits, debt advice, mental health).
Signpost clients to appropriate agencies and support networks.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold safeguarding practices.
Record basic referral information on an electronic database as required by the foodbank team.
Work collaboratively with staff and other volunteers. - Training: Full induction and ongoing support provided, including safeguarding, managing difficult conversations and signposting guidance.
Training on the use of the IT system used to collect information. - Requirements: Willing to travel by public transport or find own way to volunteering location
