The Pad (Stalybridge) Volunteer Café Assistant - Willow Wood Hospice

Are you looking to use or gain customer service skills, confidence and meet new people, in a friendly and exciting environment? This could be for you! We have a Café in The Pad in Stalybridge, who welcomes lots of customers each day. We will provide training and ongoing support throughout your journey with us to make sure you are happy in your volunteer role.

Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:

• Providing a pleasant and friendly service to customers
• Being an active member within a team of staff and volunteers, showing empathy and support and good communication skills
• Preparing and cooking (e.g. sandwiches, breakfasts, jacket potatoes, salads, toasted items)
• Making and serving hot and cold drinks
• Taking orders, using a cash register, card machine and end of day cashing up
• Serving food and drinks to customers tables.
• Washing dishes, load and unload the dishwasher, clearing and clearing tables
• Placing orders and shopping for food as and when needed
• Cleaning and tidying of kitchen and café area
• Maintaining and adhering to all Willow Wood Hospice policies and guidelines which include confidentiality, food hygiene standards, and health and safety and complete records
• To undertake relevant training when necessary
• Various hours and work patterns available.
