We know there’s a need for better HR and employment support in Greater Manchester’s VCSE sector. In response, the GM VCSE Workforce Development Programme (led by 10GM) is on a mission to find out what works best for you in terms of payroll services and other personnel support.

The ‘State of the GM VCSE Sector Report’ published in 2021 indicated the scale of the workforce in the 17,000+ charities, community groups, faith organisations and social enterprises (the “VCSE sector”): over 75,000 paid staff and half a million volunteers. We also have findings from research conducted in 2019 and 2020 which showed the needs in our organisations for support with general HR/Personnel issues, Payroll support and, increasingly, the use of Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) as part of being a supportive and inclusive employer.
These surveys will help us understand which support services VCSE organisations that employ paid staff are currently using, what works well and what additional support is needed.
