The Action Together team are very excited to be able to launch the Tameside Toy Appeal 2023. Last year’s appeal was a massive success and surpassed all of our expectations. We couldn’t have achieved what we did without the support of our volunteers.
Calling all Santa’s helpers. We need your help!
Christmas time is almost here, and we want to start filling Santa’s sleigh with toys and gifts so that all the children of Tameside receive a present this year.
Christmas time should be something to look forward too. A magical and happy time filled with excitement and joy. Sadly, the number of people living in poverty across the whole of the UK is on the rise. The ongoing cost of living crisis has caused these figures to rise even higher. With people struggling to provide food for themselves and their families, Christmas gifts are low on the priority list and something that many cannot afford.
More people than ever before are suffering with mental health issues. Statistics show that the number of children suffering with mental health and general wellbeing problems is increasing rapidly. Children are likely to be experiencing worry, anxiety and fear due to the pandemic and all of the changes it has created.

Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:
We need the support of elves with their own sleighs (cars or vans!) to help us collect all the toy and gift donations from the drop off points and take them to children’s centres across Tameside.
All magical flying reindeer food, fuel costs and volunteer expenses will be reimbursed.
Training:
Requirements: Own vehicle required, Driving license
